Year 1 Kingfishers
Welcome to Year 1!
Welcome to year 1 (Kingfisher Class). Our teacher is Miss Proctor and she is supported by Mrs Gerrard, Mrs Brown, Mr Bretherton, Mrs Sansom and Miss Glanvill. We are a very busy class with a love of reading; some of us have now read over 200 books this year!! We are very proud of our learning and work hard in all we do.
Our display related to our Dinosaur Planet topic is now complete in the Key Stage 1 area. Why not pop in and have a look at our amazing art work? The clay ammonites are really stunning.
We all enjoyed the 'Dinosaur Planet' topic and finding out about dinosaurs, fossils and Mary Anning. We visited Bridport Museum to have a look at their fossil collection as well as all the other amazing exhibits. We particularly liked the stuffed tiger and the Bridport dagger!
Don't forget that entry to the Museum is free, as the children would love to show you around.
We have been continuing to monitor the changes in the Apple Orchard. Spring is moving into Summer and tiny apples were seen on the trees.
We have been creating art work for the Key Stage 1 area. We loved the story of the Rainbow Fish, and all enjoyed making our own special fish. The moral of sharing what you have with your friends is a useful one for Year 1 children to remember.
