Fire Visit

Today (Friday 31st January) we had a visit from Rose who works as part of the fire service. We learnt about keeping safe, what to do if there is a fire and how to protect ourselves from fire. It was great. We had stories, some acting out and then we got to bring a whole trunk full of costumes to wear in class and show off all that we have learnt. :)

Cheese and Chive Bread.

We have been learning the story of the Little Red Hen and how she makes her own bread. Today we had a go at making our own bread. We worked in groups. We had to rub the butter into the flour, mix in cheese and chives, after that we used milk to make it into a dough before shaping and cutting it into six pieces.

We tried one piece as a class at school and took one piece home. It was delicious!

Thursday 30th January

On Tuesday 28th January we took part in the Big Schools Birdwatch.

We put on our wellies and coats, and set off our around the school grounds. We took a clipboard to record which birds we saw.

We saw lots of birds and tried to stay really quiet so we could get close to them.

Our nativity was Christmas Counts for Everyone, I am sure you will agree with me when I say the children made us all extremely proud.
Police Visit

As part of our topic we were thinking about all the people who worked through the night when we are sleeping. We talked about the emergency services and how they can help us. As part of our discussion we had a visit from PCSO Pete Smith, we saw the car, got to operate the siren and had a chat about staying safe. Pete very kindly gave us all some resources, we have bight hi-vis items to help us be seen and we had colouring sheets to remind us of some of the things we talked about it was a great visit!

This half term we have enjoyed B Sharp sessions every Tuesday morning. We have sang, played instruments and conducted a group while having fun and laughing along the way.
