We have an active and committed Eco-Team who are constantly monitoring our energy usage, waste and recycling. They work with the school office, gardeners (HOME Project) and our cooks; to ensure that we are doing everything we can. The team is led by Mrs Pitcher.

Most recently Eco Club did a presentation to the school raising awareness about the impact of plastic pollution. They have introduced a Terracycle initiative where we can all help by recycling plastic.
As part of their presentation they showed us the following clip:
Our Pond - We are thrilled that the pond is flourishing with a diverse range of flora and fauna.
Ruth told us about Bridport Meadows and how loads of meadows around the world have been destroyed. She put us into five groups and gave us a survey. Next we went around the meadow and found different types of wild flowers. We discovered red clovers and yellow rattles lived there. After that we were playing a game where we have to get five things: soil. air, water, sunlight and sun warmth. If we didn’t get even one of the cards we wouldn’t grow. Finally we played a game where we were butterflies, bees and moths. We were supposed to collect nectar and the bug that got the nectar won. The butterflies won. At the end I learnt that the world needs meadows for all our wonderful creatures. By NICOLE—Year 3
