Our music vision:  

We aim to provide a high-quality music education that will engage and inspire children to develop their love of music and build their confidence, resilience and self-belief. We believe that music is essential to a well-rounded education, helping children to express themselves creatively, discover talents and shine.  

Music has an incredible power to build and strengthen communities. We aim to use music to support pupils' wellbeing and to contribute to and enhance our school community through a range of events and activities. 

Our intent in music is for children to   

• Perform, listen to and engage in a wide range of music. 

• To learn to sing and use their voices. 

• To have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. 

• To develop an understanding of the terminology used in music: The musical elements: dynamics, tempo, pitch, timbre, texture, structure and duration (with musical notation)
