Well Being Ambassador introduction video
At St Mary's pupils take a leading role in wellbeing - click here to find out more about our Wellbeing Ambassadors
Wellbeing and Mental health are important to us all. Things like being included, learning, taking risks and experiencing success, having friends who value and accept them, and feeling competent and confident. They want teachers to be interested in them, to care for them and be trustworthy. Likewise, parents want similar things for their children. To be happy at school, to feel safe, to be understood, to be well cared for by other adults, to relate well to others and become independent, and to experience success.
At St Mary's we offer Social and emotional support one to one and in small groups with our ELSA’s -, Mrs Sanson, Mrs Ireland and Miss Jessopp.
Sessions cover a range of topics including – social skills, emotions, bereavement, social stories and therapeutic stories, anger management, self-esteem, think good feel good and friendship.
If you have any concerns about your child and would like further advice, please speak to your class teacher.
