Our School Council is the children’s voice. We work together to make the school a better place. Each class selects two Year Council Representatives who meet once every half term to feedback and discuss their year group’s concerns and ideas. We are also members of Bridport Youth Council where along with other local Schools we work with the town in developing a voice for young people on community issues. The Council are consulted on many matters, such as the appointment of senior members of staff, curriculum changes, school uniform and ways to encourage attendance and behaviour.
There are opportunities for School Council Representatives to meet with other School Councils to discuss local and national issues.
Minutes are kept of every meeting, and shared with all teaching staff, and are also available for parents to read on the notice board leading from the office to the KS1 area.
All children are encouraged to share ideas or concerns with their School Council Representative, so that any issues can be considered, and where possible, appropriate action taken.
If you would like to know more about the School Council, or attend a School Council meeting, please speak to Miss Proctor.
